Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?:
I have worked on them all.In fact the 1965 Kenmores were ground up restorations, down to the last nut and bolt, including professional repaint at an auto body shop. The 1961 Whirlpool was given a rebuild as well, but the paint was good and original. That machine now lives in Central MA with a proud new owner. The G.E. Filterflo just needed a "spruce up" with new belt and some rust restoration to the crossmember supports. The 64 Filter-Flo has a new owner as of 7/07. Another club member purchased it from me.
The Roberts&Mander gas range has had one of the gas lines replaced,as well as the oven control rebuilt. The 56 Whirlpool washer and dryer both had a full rebuild also. The 58 Maytags were torn down for rebuilding and repainting as the Summer of 2005,and finished by Fall of 2005. I finished the 56 Kenmore Cycle-A-Fabric rebuilt also, before Winter of 2006 sat in.
Just finished a 1957 Frigidaire Control Tower washer as of 7/06
1960 Frigidaire Custom Imperial, which I converted to the Rollermatic transmition. And I have two junkyard queen Norges, a 1954 and a 1957. Both are in very rough condition, but hope to be able to make one good Norge out of parts from both someday. 1966 Frigidaire Custom Imperial set in turquoise, rebuilt.1969 Monkey Norge Washer restored. General clean up and small repairs to the Maytag 606 washer and matching dryer for the "summer home"
