my understanding is that SUMMIT is the US branch of ARISTON. My previous washer was/IS SUMMIT and I've been very happy with it. Internal heater, good spin, knob controls so you can stop the cycle at any time and mix/match... and it wasn't too expensive either when I got it, 12 years ago...
