Magnavox people re these little speakers

Great story, Tom, have it restored, you'll never be sorry.

Magnavox people re these little speakers

They have screws on the back, I'm pretty sure there are no electronics inside.

Magnavox people re these little speakers

The volume control looking things on the speakers is just a circle with a Magnavox crest on it. I think they are just speakers, and I have seen single units alongside a stereo radio speaker amp unit in the brochures. I own a Magnavox stereo radio set that does not have the decorative trimwork on...

Magnavox people re these little speakers

Porta-Fi--early '60s to early '70s. This is 1969. Plug your transmitter into the stereo, plug the speaker into the electric outlet on the wall.

    Bewitched Second Season-Colourised Version

I found out through the washer forum, that avocado was not available in Samantha's '65-'66 vintage Frigidaires. My second season colors are a cross between washed-out Hamilton-Beach soda fountain mixer green, and putrid avocado. Samantha had either Sunny Yellow, or Turquoise.

    Vintage hair dryers and telephones

Funny you should mention telephones and hairdryers-I snagged this mint green AT&T Princess at Salvation Army, and this powder blue Presto Mini Dryer at Mustard Seed, about a week apart. Love that GE dryer!

What Happened to Zest Bath Soap?

Zest will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2008, there was an ad that played on our local station's 30th anniversary, with a '58 muscle boy taking a shower.

Anyone here in to vinyl? Part II

Hi Mark, I had been getting my Micromatic needles successfully through Radio Shack, NOS, and have at least 3 in stock, but like everything else, don't know where! I may be able to get that cartridge through them, I need at least two, I swiped some out of my unused units. I found one on the...

    random record console question

Here's the Cobra-Matic from the 1953 unit languishing on my porch. It is 10 to 85 rpm, and the entire set has not been played since 1981. It came out of a house that hadn't been occupied since '82. Long story, I'll spare you.

    obsessed with cassettes

Here is a Panasonic mini cassette unit, and a '67 Magnavox reel to reel. The Panasonic is from around '76 I'm guessing.

Those are "lock down latches" which I think most people didn't use when transporting any of those sets. I have a couple with them. You have the most expensive portable Magnavox made that year, without the radio. I just bought one with the radio. I still want one without.

Anyone here in to vinyl? Part II

Do not adjust your monitor, it's antiqued green. It's a four speed Micromatic, with the changer wheel that is binding at the moment. I have to take the platter off and push the wheel back at this time. No way to run a Magnavox!

    Anyone here into vinyl?

That's a pretty building, Fono, it reminds me a little of Fort Knox, Kentucky.
