Unusual items found in old dryers

I agree with one of the above posters when it comes to asking the question, "Well, what brand is your machine?" It makes me crazy when people don't know after using the machine for 20 years. I suspect ADD or brain damage at the least. I must say that I'm not making fun of ADD, I am sure I suffer...

Unusual items found in old dryers

I found a childrens sandal lodged in the motor of a Whirlpool dryer once. Kenmores, the older ones, are bad about eating money.

    Future collectable?

I have only seen one Marathon dryer in my days here. I took it as a trade in on a GE dryer. It worked very well considering that the machine had been in a wash room that had a leaky ceiling for about 5 years. I was bored one day and did a bondo job on the top of the dryer. Then a Krylon paint...

    Maytag conversion...

Don't know either but I convert gas dryers over to electric all the time. Very simple.

Unusual items found in old dryers

What is the most unusual item you have found in an old dryer? Some on this site may have heard about the 20.00 bill I found in an old Kenmore that had to be sent to the Beareau of printing and engraving for replacement as it was severely mutilated. But a few days ago I picked up as a trade in an...

Is that Northern Lights or Columbian growing amongst all of those rust buckets?

Help Wanted ~Maytag & Admiral question.

Thanks for your reply about the Maytag. The sad sad fact about these machines is that after I sold both of them, around 100.00 each, I had to refund the 100.oo on the Admiral and I had to go out and purchase a pretty GE for 50.00 to replace the Maytag. I got out cheap on that one. I had to buy...

Help Wanted ~Maytag & Admiral question.

Hello all, I need answers to a few questions here. I work on washing machines as a hobby and a biz and I mainly work on older stuff such as Kenmore, GE, and the like. Recently I have goten my hands on 2 very nice machines. One being an Admiral Mega 22 washer and the other being a Maytag...

    Kenmore Wig Wags

Well, I have always been a poor boy and look around the shop to see what I can make do with. My mentor (40 plus years exp.)just told me that he has done it before. Maybe I asked too soon. But considering that this unit is being repaired to be re-sold, I may wait for a rainy day to tackle it. I...

    Kenmore Wig Wags

Has anyone ever replaced the solenoids on a wig wag washer? I was wondering if I could take a solenoid off of a water inlet switch and replace a weak solenoid on a wig wag.

    Mint 1977 Kenmore Dryer

I was just given a mint condition Kenmore with sticker on back with a date of manufacture in 1977. All it needed was a sensor on the heating element. It is gold in color or more of a yellow i guess. What should i ask for it on used market?

    GE Carry-Cool

Ok yaw, I just sold a GE carry-cool for 2.50 cents. It worked but i was wanting to clean shop to make room for washers. Those units from the 70's-80's were 4200 BTU's I think. There is more than 2.50 scrap aluminum in those units because I have never seeen one with coppper coils(reefers) but i...
