What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
It started at an early age of 4 yrs old,my aunt said i would not stop crying until she put over the washing machine. It was a wringer i remembered that washer it was a black straghtvane it was so powerfull the way clothes rolled over and i admired the way she put her hand in the water taking the clothes out and feeding the wringer with precision and backfeeding to double wring which takes skill. i still dont know how to do that and then she would pull that clutch and clack!!THATS WHEN I FELL IN LOVE WITH WASHING MACHINES!! I also put a blue cap in my grandmothers 1962 kenmore washer with the bullet cap straghtvane agitator and turned her whole wash blue. got a little spanking for that one haha . Since then and decades of looking at peoples washers it just keeps on getting sronger and stronger. WASHERS ARE A BEAUTIFUL THING.. DOING LAUNDRY IS MY FAVORITE ACTIVITY.The bad thing about it is that peaple think your crazy (ooh you like washers and start laughing ) Im sure all of you on this site Know what i mean. I thought i was the only one who liked them... UNTIL THIS WEBSITE! I WANT TO THANK EVERYBODY THAT IVE SEEN ON THIS FANTABULOUS SITE ESPECIALLY ROBERT SEGER. WHAT A GEM OF A PERSON GOD SENT TO ALL. WOULD LOVE TO MEET HIM SOMEDAY AND EVERYBODY ELSE.. THANKS!
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
Will i wished i could have saved everything i saw on and off the road. Because of lack of room and ignorance i have lost alot . But here are the things that ive had to let go ... brand new 1950s topload dishwasher, maytag roundtub wringer, thor wringer with metal agitator, kenmore dishwaser with rotobasket (didnt work so threw it out).. did not know how to restore.. uuggh .. maybe with u guys ill learn someday! sanyo pulseator style washer in my moms apt that was fun only 50 bucks (a twister she was) ha! AND THE ONE I REALLY REGREAT WAS MY GAGGENAU 215 DISHWASHER MADE BY SMEG WITH RESEST DIAL AND WATER SOFTNING SYSTEM AND TWO BEAUTIFUL STAINLESS STEAL WASH ARMS ..COLD WATER FEED MACHINE IT WAS ELECTROMCHANICAL VERY CLICKEY IT WOULD CLICK FOR 7 MINS STRAGHT AND LAST CLACK THEN IT WOULD HEAT FOR 40 MINS AND GET SUPER SILENT. NEVER HEARD WATER SOUNDS LIKE THAT IN ANY OTHER DISHWASHER LIKE A COLD WATER FEED MACHINE. All of them gone! ooh well looking for new things who knows what the future may bring.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
