Amana top loader won't agitate or spin but drains

Before I break something... Which way is the bolt in the top of the drive bell removed? Righty or lefty? I've been able to find squat-all repair vids for the washer and the service manual left out this information.

Amana top loader won't agitate or spin but drains

It was the belt causing the no agitation - got wet enough to leave residue on the idler pulley and let the belt slide. New belt & started just fine. Also discovered where the leak is coming from: a screw that looks like it holds the outer tub to the tub flange in the front and I believe one in...

Amana top loader won't agitate or spin but drains

This is the same washer i posted about last year (Amana Distinctions, '02). Belt and idler spring was replaced five months ago, ran great until this week. Water started leaking onto the floor from under the cabinet. Pulled the front panel off and found water sitting in the dip under the tub...

Amana Distinctions Washer only washes in hot water!!

Thanks so much for the help! The cold temp sensor is shot, have to wait until Monday to get a replacement. In the meantime, we simply stuck a two-way on the hot inlet and ran both hoses to that, with them open half-way.

Amana Distinctions Washer only washes in hot water!!

Model # DLW330RAW, bought in 2002. I'm guessing it has something to do with the water temp selector. Mom had a repair guy put in a new clutch & belt, and he had it tipped backward & with the console resting against the wall...maybe he knocked something loose? Both water lines are attached & on...

Maytag Highlander 126 Has New Home!

Sorry I missed ya! I got stuck at my mom's, loading things for the yard sale. Lol, I'm sitting here, grinning like an idiot @ the pics. Thanks for posting them *waves @ the Highlander*. Yes, I was attached to it, but so glad it has a new home. It's a fun little machine.

    MY T.V.! No touch!

If I can find the (mid?) 80s Quasar top-loader vcr we had when I was a kid, it would be bonus :D

    MY T.V.! No touch!

I actually paid hubs $7 NOT to sell this at a yard sale we had. Had been sitting in the garage at my grandparent's house, and I actually jumped up & down when it was plugged in and had a perfect picture. I'd like to get spare parts for it to squirrel away for 'just in case'. Yes, every Saturday...

Highlander needs a new home in san antonio, tx

It needs a good cleaning; the tub was full when the motor went out. We've got extremely hard water down here; the usual routine is to run hot water with about a quart of white vinegar, let it set for an hour, and then run through the longest cycle.

I'm not the greatest at taking pics: Nifty turquoise! ID tag on back: Some rust on rear at very bottom:

Highlander needs a new home in san antonio, tx

Well, we're having to move, and it's looking more & more like I can't take it with me :(. I'm desperate to keep it from the junkyard. At the moment I'm fairly certain it needs a new motor - about $75 - $120. White w/the nice turquoise agitator. I'll post pics if anyone's interested.

Looking for a motor for Highlander

I have a Maytag Highlander - we're pretty sure that's what it is, MOD 126, 115v, 7.0 amp, 60 cyc. - that began to smoke from the drain holes in the tub last week while filling for a load. The smoke seemed to be mainly coming from the right side, and the bottom of the tub was warm when I pulled...
