Bursting at the seams. Have always been interested in Automatic Washers.
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
GE:WA-950V; entire 1961 Original V-12 Line, 1957 850P;1958 WA 850R; 1959 Line; Entire 1960 "Golden Anniversary Line" ( which remain something of a mystery).Entire lines from 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963. Family owned many machines from these years. I think mom and dad had stock in GE and encouraged everyone to buy them. Many bough from Hampton Sales store in NYC. Loved the fact that GE changed colors every year until 1964-then overall design changed.

Maytag A806 and DG806 from 1969; Maytag with red agitator AMP, First Maytag A906

Frigidare Red Poppy 1-18 set;

The Philco Top Loader that looks like a jukebox +matching dryer+matching front loader.

Hotpoint Entire 1969 line right before they became relabled GEs.
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
Watching Ola Mae ( au pair, mothers helper, de facto mom) use a wooden spoon to stir Salvo tablets into filling automatic washer tub. Poet of laundry, she was.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
Whirpool washer ( on casters) from the late 50s. Top of the line GE Refrigerator-Freezer (bottom mount), Double wall Ovens, Cooktop with coordinated vent hood, Pull-out drawer-style dishwasher( pink inside), WA-750W AND WA-750V washers and DA 520V and WA 720W dryers all from 1961-1962, a WA 650 U (I believe) washer from 1960; a WA 750X (I believe) washer from 1963; a bottom of the line GE dishwasher from 1964 (mom liked this one best; said she never used but one button on the expensive model; also, this one was new style--door opened down and racks rolled out instead of drawer. Nobody liked reaching down into that configuration). Westinghouse range and refrigerator-freezer also from 1964. GE pink dishwasher later replaced (in 1974, I think) with beautiful KitchenAid Custom Model Dishwasher, model KC-17. GE double self-cleaning oven from 1971; GE green interior middle of the line DW from 1971; GE incredibly crappy TTF-17 something top freezer fridge from 1969 ( I never forgave my parents for that purchase-what a piece of shit). Frigidaire 40" single oven electric stove from 1950. Hamilton Dryer from 1949. Frigidaire "Crown Imperial" Pulse action washer from 1958. GE Filter-Flo with Mini Basket (WWA-7500 P , I believe) from 1971; matching GE Dryer 1971. Fridigaire 30" Electric stove from 1975 ( simple but elegant and worked better than any electric stove Ive ever seen)Frigidaire top freezer Refrigerator also from 1975. GE top of the line Double Oven HI-LO integrated range, Ice and Water in the door Side by Side, Dishwasher, Washer and Dryer all from 1978. Maytag Jet-Clean Dishwasher c. 1980; Maytag D308 Dryer from 1978, Whirlpool Bottom-Mount Refrigerator/Freezer, 1978; KitchenAid Patrician Dishwasher from 1978 ( good model but not as elegant as earlier Custom). Early 1976 GE lower-end Washing Machine ( WWA-5700, probably). That one replaced by late GE WWA-8250 two speed washer( line is getting tired).
Currently a KitchenAid(Whirlpool) Side-by-Side, Water and Ice in door Refrigerator/Freezer, Jenn-Air built-in single convection oven, Jenn-Air built-in convertable electric range top, Maytag Jet-Clean dishwasher from 1990( I found it, brand new, on the side of the road; a day care center had been given it ten years earlier and they never used it!). Two Gaggenau gas hobs (beautifully designed, but flawed). A Maytag 1995 Washer and Dryer (best dryer Ive ever used) and an LG W2542 front-loader( smartest appliance Ive ever owned, but its water-heating abilities are overstated and disappointing).
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
The entire Electrolux line from 1954 to 1972:
E, Automatic E
S, R, 4 different color Ls,
3-automatic Fs,
3-automatic Gs,
and a couple of the newer ones. And I hate vacuuming, go figure.
