Canadian Kenmore workhorse washer
Appears to be a mid '80's belt drive washer with a short spin post. Very similar to one of my recent Kenmore belt drive washer rebuilds. I managed to locate a Simpson Sears catalogue page in my files of your washer pair. If the washer is in it's original...
1966 Canadian Kenmore Pair
Timely POD! My next potential new acquisition will be a 1966 Canadian Kenmore pair. I will be inspecting the pair in a couple of weeks. Hopefully, the bearings/seals are in good condition and the washer centre post is not rusted through.
Hi Folks,
I am hoping someone can provide me the part numbers for the center post bearings and seals O/S belt drive whirlpool washer. Also, I looking for the part number of the spin tube assembly. I am currently rebuilding late 80's Canadian Kenmore belt drive washer and planning to replace...
Drain Flapper seal failures
I tend to agree the 70-90's GE were fairly reliable dishwashers. The three level washing action was one of the best dishwashers for cleaning. The highest number of services calls I had were the drain valve flappers(seal) failing ....(little bit of water drain/siphon...
I am starting another belt drive Whirlpool washer project…now it is a Canadian made “Inglis”. I saw this poor washer on a pickup truck and I managed to save this washer from the landfill.
This Inglis washer have been in storage for years. The washer is a basic entry bottom of line model with...
Whirlpool Quintessential Music
Mission accomplished for now. Music to my ears...hearing the legendary Quintessential Whirlpool sound! New tub seal, spintube seal and centre post seal. Applied Industrial sealant 800 to the significant rust. Who knows I might luck out find another Whirlpool...
The fun begins!
Good news, the 54 year old transmission and spin tube assembly is near new condition (very little wear), the spin tube center post rust has not rusted through...rust is surface (nothing that industrial sealant can't fix).
The challenge is both the inner and outer tub rust (the...
Rust
Yay, found my spanner wrench! Now I can expose the truth of the washer...RUST.
The spin tube post has some significant rust, I have seen worse. The basket and outer tub rust appears to be only surface (looks worse than it is).
I expect the owner kept the lid closed after each load...
Model and Serial Numbers
Attached are some photos including the name plates. This weekend the real fun begins! I will start stripping the washer and cleaning the tubs, replace seal, and replace the pump.
What are the odds to find a lightly used matching 1970’s Whirlpool washer and dryer in Victoria, BC, Canada! Appears to resemble closely to the Brady Bunch Whirlpool Set. The washer and dryer came from an estate sale. The dryer has been in storage in the basement for about 50 years (maybe 2...
Maytag A9600 is in amazing condition
Thanks John! I recalling someone telling me this, but I was not certain who. The last time I rebuild a Maytag was in the late 80's when the orbital tranny was first introduced. All my factory updates are outdated...lol Funny how I remember all the old...
I have A quick question about installing the new Maytag 2095720 Washer Mounting Stem & Tub Seal Kit. Does anyone know the spring-loaded Agitator seal is no longer required when installing the new seal kit? I noticed the new kit has a rubber seal built in the tub mounting stem.
