Would like to have 1949 Maytag automatic washer.
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
1950s Norge Timeline automatic washer. The first I remember as a child. My mom had to push it up to the kitchen sink,(it was on wheels) and hook up to the faucet. Always had to be around during the spin cycle, as it would walk, or should I say roll away from the sink as far as the hose or electric cord would allow.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
Norge refrigerator, GE electric range, Montgomery Wards Signature electric range, Sears Kenmore automatic washer, Easy electric dryer, Admiral refrigerator. All of these range in years from the 1960s through the 1980s, and I no longer have any of these, except the refrigerator.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
I have done some repair. Not a qualified mechanic by any means, but absolutely love to play with automatic washing machines, as well as watch them operate.
