Servis 262 Belts
Managed to track the fan belt down via Amazon believe it or not. The element is proving a little harder but I am sure there is a halo of heat element somewhere! The dryer works fine without the element connected but trips the minute it is connected so guess it has worn out.
There seems to be alot on here about the restoration and resurrection of old dryers! I managed to acquire at the weekend a Servis Quartz Dryer which is in fantastic cosmetic condition. After a good clean round with a vacuum and brush and a test for earth and possible shorts with a multimeter, I...
They are great pictures - superb machines for their day too - not like the plastic rubbish that is on sale down at your local electrical shop. There were almost new looking hotpoint machines at our local tip last week - maybe an indication about the poor build quality of modern stuff. I bet...

Thank you so much for those diagrams. I have taken the top and back off to have a look at the venting arrangement and couldnt believe how much lint had built up in there. i think I will take your advice about modifying the vent outlet...
Whilst I had the back off, I noticed that the belt...

Vaguely remember...
Thanks Austin - I can see that now - there are a couple of clips that hold it in... doesnt seem terribly effective though- lots of fluff coming through vent pipe. Anyone else have similar problem?
Hi. I have recently aquired a Servis 2305 dryer. Has anyone got any info on this dryer and how old it might be?
The facia panel looks a bit like a Servis Quartz dryer but has a clockwork timer.
Inside the front multivent panel there is a flat lint filter but not sure how it is meant to fit in...
