    Question for sudsman

On the powder detergent vs. liquid thread you mentioned something about moritcan work being the worse you have to deal with. By any chance did you mean mortician work? I typed in the word the way you had it spelled. If this wasn't a typo could you please share what moritcan/mortician laundry...

    Powder - beats liquid?

Launderess, you are so right about the drawbacks of soap that's why detergent is king. You're also right about homemade detergents made with soap being "in vogue". I have seen so many recipes for homemade detergents on laundry/cleaning products discussion forums.

    Powder - beats liquid?

Hay sudsmaster One solution, for those who are in a quandry over this eternal debate, is to use both. Personally, I favor powder and probably always will. Never knew doing laundry was so complicated(smile). I'm going to stick with this simple equation>GOOD DETERGENT+CORRECT WATER...

What's Your Favorite Vintage TV Show?

maggie Nowadays, if you gave a tv set a good whack the set might break!! LOL. Growing up, I remember doing funny things with the tv in an effort to get it to "act right", too. For example, moving the attennae in a certain direction. Sometimes it would even break off! Now that we've had cable...

What's Your Favorite Vintage TV Show?

Oh, and how could I forget Family Affair with Brian Keith, Mr. French, Buffy, and Jody. Sadly, all three are no longer with us. Brian Keith committed suicide and Anissa Jones who played Buffy died of a drug overdose in 1976. I can't recall how Sebastian Cabot(Mr. French) died.

    Powder - beats liquid?

Launderess You are so right about a lot of people not having to deal with heavily soiled laundry. Unless one has an occupation such as an auto/jet mechanic, janitor, etc., or labors in any other field where work clothes get really dirty, there's usually no need for a lot of highly specialized...

    Who Cleans Up After Me?

Miss Clairol? I forgot about her. Yeah, I'm surprised he didn't hang out with her, too. Last I heard, she was working at the old PANTENE theater down on CHARMIN St. She was heartbroken over some AUSSIE with a BOUNTY on his head who had just dumped her for someone else. Her friends tried to warn...

    For All You Disposer Fans!

My aunt had one of those... in the 60's. I still remember that distinctive sound of food waste being pulverized. A grinding sound that ensured my staying away from the sink drain when it was on!! I don't know what they sound like today.

    Who's Blocking Jimmy?

Hay Launderess... about Jimmy stepping out in his robe. I wondered that, too. Have two guesses. He did it in the vein of "it's ok as long as I don't step out TOO far, as a lot of people go out to the porch or driveway to pick up the newspaper etc., or he wanted to know the answer to his...
