    Lady Kenmore ~1974-1975

Just wanted to say I did try getting in & rocking & nothing. I used a strap & a wood board & it still didn't budge. Any more tips? I'm not missing anything after I get the nut off? It technically should pull up?

    Lady Kenmore ~1974-1975

Great news, after a few days of soaking & hitting with a hammer & the tool, the nut is off. Now is there a trick to getting the tub out? I tried pulling it up & I see it move a bit but not anymore. I'm guessing after years of being together, it is going to be tough. After this I believe I can do...

Alright, I have noticed that it is deforming the metal on the nut. Do they have replacements?

    Lady Kenmore ~1974-1975

I got the agitator off & now I'm trying to remove the tub nut. Was curious if this has a snap ring or if I just need to try & get it to break loose. I tried with the proper tool but to no avail. Are there any tricks?

    1974 Lady Kenmore Washer

Combo52 I figured because when the tub filled it would be sitting against the hose & still leak. So I will try to use a sealer to stop that leak although only after I fix the self cleaning lint trap. I ordered a self cleaning lint trap replacement. I'll attach a picture of what I found on...

    1974 Lady Kenmore Washer

So question, if I'm not using bleach, would the water not come from there? That's concerning if not... Wonder if tub has a small hole. Guess I'll find out soon enough. Also I took the penta-swirl off & it's a flat screw... What is the trick to getting it to loosen up? Obviously the agitator...

    1974 Lady Kenmore Washer

Here is a picture of where the leak is. Would this just need silicone or is this hose available? I was thinking if I silicone it, will it cause issues if I need to replace or remove the lint trap to fix its leak?

Just discovered that it is the lint trap that is leaking, not the drain pump... Whoops... Is this a gasket that causes that or will I need a new lint trap unit?

    1974 Lady Kenmore Washer

Hello again everyone! So I decided to buy a older washer than my 1980s Maytag. I went with a Sears Lady Kenmore Washer. I believe it is a 1974. I picked it up yesterday & got it home, hooked up & tested for leaks at the inlets, I didn't see any. So far so good. So I had clothes to wash & did...

    Vintage Kenmore Dryer Questions

Thanks again guys, I will keep it only half full with wet clothes. Yes that makes sense, the reason I like the original manual is just because I feel like the machine is complete with it. I have manuals for my vintage cars, oven, etc... it's always fun to see the way things were written as it...

    Vintage Kenmore Dryer Questions

Wow, thanks for all that info! That is great to hear so much about this dryer so quickly. I'm glad I joined to get this info. I would like to try to find a manual, although I can't seem to find one. I also was doing testing & it was quite noisy to start so I did find the oil spots & oiled with...

Hello everyone, I just joined & I have a few Vintage appliances & wanted to start with my dryer. I purchased this about 5 days ago now & have installed it & are about to use it as soon as I get a load of clothes to dry but wanted to see if anyone out here knew more about it as quick googling...
