What are your dream machines yet to be found?
There are a few, a Maytag AMP model, Westinghouse computer programmed frontloader or a Whirlpool or Kenmore combination
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
Oh boy there were a few, pushing the start button on the 50s Hotpoint dishwasher to start it. Being fustrated because I couldnt see what was going on inside the Maytag AMP washer as it would stop as you opened the lid. My grandmothers Kenmore, my first machine to actually see what was happening inside the machine. My mom complaining about the Frigidaire tangling the clothes into knots. Watching the frontload Westinghouse with a flashlight as it washed and oversuds(with regular frequency)and dont open the door when that happens, as I did, what a mess that makes. Moms new Kenmore that lasted 22 years without a repair and the sound it made when switching into the spin cycle - sweet music!!!!
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
A 1950s Hotpoint kitchen with diswasher, stove, refrigerator. 1963 GE Americana range/stove (crap!!)1956 Kenmore 3 cycle 6 heat setting clothes dryer w/ozone lamp (great), 1971 Philco spacemate room airconditioner(20 years without a repair), 1967 and 1980 Whirlpool dishwashers(great machines), 1969 Kenmore washer(never a repair in 21 years)
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
Yes, the clothes dryer, replaced the dryer drum belt just recently its first repair and on the whirlpool refrig changed the temperature control, and installed the 1991 dishwasher.
