The Maytag washer was new Sept.1983, by my wife's parents, it has been in the family (house) since then, serving faithfully.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
The bulb for the wringer collapsed, cut the bulb off the hose and attached a plastic "turkey baster" to the hose and a plastic tie at baster bulb so it didn't lose pressure. Good as new.
Several years later, 3 years ago, the wringer had issues starting, the rollers would not engage. Found a place in our city that had the gasket for wringer, took it apart, cleaned and regreased it, this is working fine.
Now I have a pump wheel issue.
