Great stuff Greg! That '49 GE dishwasher is beautiful. Imagine someone buying that and never using it. I'm really happy for you. With all of those new toys coming in you may have to sell off your Norge dryer to make room! (evil grin) Thanks for sharing them with us!

I showed the picture of Greg's dryer to my partner this morning. He remembers that my grandmother still had her set in '93 while she was living in an apartment.

commercial SQ washer picked up today

It looks like you picked up some beautiful pieces Greg. That SQ looks to be in near mint condition, especially considering the age and the fact that it's a commercial machine. The fridge is also very nice. Have you checked for a serial number? Maybe that will give you some idea as to it's age...

Thank you for the information Greg. I noticed by reading one of the Consumer Reports articles here on the site that in '54 the Norge TimeLine received one of the best ratings that year from the publication. I agree with you, those old Norge machines were built like tanks. IMO, the styling was...

Pardon me for offending anyone. I was just trying to bring a little light-heartedness to the conversation. I'll keep quite now.

    heres a pretty washer

Pardon me for barging in on this conversation especially since I don't know an awful lot about washers and dryers but when I look at the copy of the page, at the very bottom, it looks like it's mentioned that the washer and dryer would be shipped via freight train from the factory in Iowa. I...

Boy, would I love to have these!

I like the idea of the appliance repair uniform. But to be on the safe side you may want to concoct some story that you are bringing in a loaner set while the Frigidaire set is being worked on. The loaner set of course would be something that you picked up from the curb and spray painted...

What is it bout gay guys and washers? I gave this topic some thought and came up with a couple of possibilities. They are... The thought of sitting on the agitator just brings goose bumps out of a lot of gay men OR... Simply sitting on the washer while the fist from the Salvo Tablet...

Thank you for the welcome DrMitch. I'm sure I'll have many happy moments here. It appears to be a very nice bunch of people. And thank you Lesto for pointing out Robert's '56 Timeline. I did look at it the other day. It's very nice but it doesn't look the same as the '54. The '56 has an...

I am a new member here and I must say that I'm so glad that my "gaydar" is still working. I came upon this site by way of Yahoo through a search for vintage appliances. I've spent several hours here doing a lot of reading and looking at all the photos. I've enjoyed every minute of it. In the...

Greetings Everyone! Found this wonderful site as a result of a search for vintage appliances. When I was young my grandmother had a Norge Time Line washer and dryer. That set lasted until around 1975. It was wonderful. I loved pushing the button to open the dryer door (simple pleasures for...
