What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
My mother had a 1967 Lady Kenmore wash/drier avacado set. I loved the light over the controls, the push buttons and control knob. By age 8, I had memorized every setting, anticipating the sounds as the dial advanced, watching by the hour. Our neighbor had a 60s Frigidaire washer with a window in the lid. She took great care in cleaning & polishing her appliances after each use. I then had to "raise the standards" at home and also began to clean & polish our beautiful set. By age 9, (1973) we visited friends in LA who had an awesome Bradys style home. I was green with envy and also introduced to a 1969 Hot Point dishwasher. I studied the interior, listened to it run and I was hooked!
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
1989 Kenmore washer/drier & 2006 Maytag mini stack. Dishwashers: Caloric, Hot Point, Whirlpool, Kitchenaid & Maytag.
