    Boosting the furnace

Would it be possible to check into something like an injectable foam insulation? Could be a possible solution for walls with minimal to no insulation.

    Boosting the furnace

I would use a combination of electric blanket (or better yet mattress pad) and a big fluffy down duvet. This year one of my Christmas gifts I want is a down duvet I found on amazon for $120 with amazing reviews. The tiny feathers trap air which in turn will also trap your body heat (and or...

And the Oscar of Idiot of the century goes to....

Over the summer I was looking at some window fans on amazon. Anyways I was looking at the reviews and one person commented that she was upset she couldn’t close her window.... while using ... the window fan... and I’m not talking closing the window onto the fan. She was upset she couldn’t close...

Question - does anyone like newer smalls?

I absolutely love my NuWave oven pro plus and I use it every single day and I also love my Mealthy multipot (electric pressure cooker) between the two I hardly ever use my stove or my oven (when I do need an oven for larger dishes I use my Oster extra large digital oven) but I also use them in...

    Hellooo Wegmans!

I live in Maryland and love going to wegmans for the things I can’t find in other stores. My husband worked there for a few years too. I hope they bring them to Long Island (where I’m originally from) such a wonderful store!

My rare?/ hard to find vintage appliances

Lady Casco- Hans, that’s so cool that you found one too! This was still in the original box with plastic for some of the items. I believe this was maybe used just a few times. It had all the original instructions and advertisements for their other products. Adjusted for inflation this would’ve...

My rare?/ hard to find vintage appliances

Thank you for sharing that warning with me! You’re right, they aren’t completely flat. Funny enough I was checking my Corning yesterday and I realized one of them didn’t have a label on the bottom and was EXTREMELY smooth so I believe that was meant for either their flat top line or there...

My rare?/ hard to find vintage appliances

Robin, beautiful toaster! I’ve seen some videos on YouTube with them and find them magical. If we ate toast more then I’d probably get one too! But alas Jeffrey eats bagels. Don’t get me started on Corningware. I know my mom has some and used it occasionally but it’s my grandmas I remember...

My rare?/ hard to find vintage appliances

Sarah: thank you so much for sharing those photos! I have to say I am in love with your nesco roaster oven. It’s so beautiful and the design is so eye catching! I never thought I’d be using my egg cooker so much. For years I’ve been making a big batch of poached eggs once a week that I would...

My rare?/ hard to find vintage appliances

Hello everyone! So I just got some new purchases in and wanted to share some of my newest finds. Some of them, especially the lady Casco chef mate- are very rare or hard to find. The other photos I’m including are my other appliances I own and adore using! Enjoy :) Lady casco chef mate...

    A fabric softener question...

I always use a cup of white vinegar in the rinse cycle which always makes everything super soft and doesn’t affect the absorbency of towels like fabric softener does. If you want fragrance to your items you could add some essential oils which will lightly fragrance them.

Considering buying an "Insta-Pot", are they any good?

Pressure cooker- I personally own and recommend the Mealthy multipot which is a 6 or 8 qt electric pressure cooker. They have AMAZING customer service (often emails are answered within 15 minutes). Not only that but their 6qt model is less than $95 and comes with comparable features as the...

    Dryer Sheet Usage

Fabric softener alternatives Personally I never use fabric softener whether liquid or in a sheet. You’re basically just adding residue to your clean clothes that can affect absorbency and also makes them more flammable. Now, obviously you’d still want soft fluffy clothes and towels so what I...

    Fabric softener question

Softener- Softener is basically adding another layer of soap to your clothes. While it makes them soft and smell great it’s actually weighing down the fibers and for things like towels- prevents them from drying you properly. And for things like kids Pj’s it interferes with the flame retardant...
