What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
The earliest memory was my Grandmother's 1953 Laundromat. She had to replace it with a 1965 Westinghouse Muli-Program Laundromat top loader. I loved the sound it made when it agitated. I used to sneak to the kitchen and open the lid and watch it run. I was fascinated with how the bakelite ramp agitator would pull the clothes down, and how the basket would index counter clockwise when the agitator turned clockwise. No other washer did that. I thought it was so neat. That started it all. I've had a romance with washing machines since then. I was 7 at the time. Now I'm 61. I only get to watch those machines run on YouTube.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
I've owned a Westinghouse refrigerator, A White-Westinghouse top loader, A Westinghouse Deluxe Front loader, A KitchenAid K45-SS Mixer and a GE dishwasher.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
Yes. I've worked on Whirlpool belt and direct drive washers, Whirlpool dryers, GE Filter-Flow washers, My Mom's Maytag Atlantis washer(a piece of junk. Fixed it 3 times in 11 years), My washers, My sixth grade teacher's KitchenAid Superba dishwasher.
