My parents had this exact same model in their new house they purchased in 1958. Fortunately for them, theirs was a stainless-steel finish. So it was able to fit in as they changed other appliance colors over the years. It was still in the house when they sold it around 2010. I have seen pastel...
Subject Drift: for real
So I click on this thread hoping to see the latest posts on Speed Queen washers, and once again we have a thread that is completely off the rails. This seems to happen way too often. People, do better, please.
There's a lot of Hydrowave haters on this website, but I've owned 3, myself, and my 2 kids. The dual action agitator has good turn over, mine rarely goes out of balance, and if it wasn't for the electric pump, they are fairly quiet. My first one was a 2007 model that replaced a 2000 Amana, that...
I had this same problem on a Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher when I moved into my unit Oct 2019. I noticed the sloshing sounds of the water seems louder than I thought they should be. So I decided to open the door and see if I could figure out the cause. To my surprise it kept on running. I called...
My parents bought a new home in 1958. All the homes around were of similar age. All had built in GE push button ranges with separate wall ovens. I remember seeing pastel pink, yellow, and maybe turquoise colors. My parents got lucky and there's was stainless steel, so for all the years they...

I purchased a 1983 GE 20cf SXS ice only through the door, when we moved into our new home. I believe the Energy guide on it was $109 at the time. It had what I like to refer to as the GE "lunchbox" compressor, as thats what it looked like to me, lol. We had it until we moved to another home in...
Back in the 60s when factory air was becoming more common, Chevrolet used to have a blue sticker in the form of the chevy bowtie, that was applied to the lower rear window that said "air conditioned". I guess to brag to the neighbors your car had it, and to maybe let those driving around you...
Dancing Maytags
Thank you Hans, misery enjoys company. I was beginning to think I was the only person who ever had one. A 1985 A610 I believe, bought new, and complained to the Maytag dealer that I thought the tub was a bit wobbly. He refused to do anything about it. The machine did ok on a...
things to go wrong ?
I moved into a house that had a 2 tiered avocado Westinghouse range in 1977 that I doubt was over 6 years old, and the oven thermostat was already defective.
I found where a smell I was trying to figure out was coming from when going to replace a sink basket strainer in the non disposer side. Both vertical and horizontal plastic pipes had nasty smelling gung in them, but especially the horizontal one. I cleaned both of them out and that solved my problem
I never liked the curly fluorescent ones. Some brands took 1/2 second after flipping switch to light up. Doesn't sound like much but annoyed me when your used to incandescent bulbs instant on. But the bigger problem was using them in cold environments like garages in the winter. Those things...

Yeah, I believe it. My mother in law has a french door LG fridge the icemaker conked out on early on. Even when it did, the hopper held very little ice and ran out quickly for larger family gatherings. I think downsizing these ice makers to fit the smaller in door area seems to make...
