I dont actually have a collection. Some day, I hope to own a few in order to try my hand at rebuilding and restoring.
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
Id love to own an early 60s Maytag similar to the one my Grandmother owned. We also had a Frigidaire washer when I was a kid. It was also vintage early 60s. Id love to find and restore one of those.
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
My Moms yellow Frigidaire washer circa 1964. The agitation always fascinated me as a kid. I would sit on the counter next to it and just watch it agitate! LOL!
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
Like most people, Ive owned appliances out of necessity. Some, bought a new 1986 Speed Queen and owned it for more than 30 years and never did a thing to it. I gave it away last year so I wouldnt have to move it to a new city. I stupidly bought a new GE washer to replace it last year. Bad decision! I just bought new Maytag Commercial to replace it. So far so good!
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
Ive worked on a few washers for my Mom to replace a bad water pump and a broken timer. Those were easy repairs.
