I’ve been using the various iterations of Perwoll designed for blacks/darks for years. Think the latest is called Perwoll Renew & Repair for Darks. It’s spendy, but have generally considered it the gold standard for washing black clothes.
However, noticed the local grocery store carries Woolite...
My sister has used Tide Free & Clear detergent for years, as her husband has skin sensitivities. I noticed last time I was there she had the Hygienic Clean version. Will let her know about the rebranding.
Place me in the pro Tide Professional camp, as well. Cleans like a champ; like the scent. I order mine from Staples office supply online.
A Tide Aside: Was surprised to learn the local Latino grocery store stocks the front loading and top loading versions of liquid TideMatic (India). I love the...
I wouldn’t bother with Amway SA8 powder. It’s low sudsing, but even when paired with the brand’s all-fabric bleach/booster stain removal is not great.

Updated detergent dispenser: I like the new sliding door design. It protects the detergent pac much better than the frustrating flip top on the Whirlpool. Most of the pac was gone before the machine hit the main wash.

Ryne- We absolutely have the same dishwasher, except mine is portable. I’ve been very impressed with performance, especially in the 48-minute Light cycle, which is what I use almost exclusively. Even grungy cookware has been coming clean using Cascade Platinum with Dawn pacs in softened water...
I’m pleased with the dishwasher. Cleans like a champ. I generally use the Light cycle (49 minutes) and even cookware comes out clean.
The first time I used the Light cycle it ran 65 minutes. Ever since then whether washing a lightly soiled half-capacity load or a Bobload it runs 49 minutes. I...
Jerome- The AutoSense (Normal) Cycle had been running about ten minutes when company stopped over. I was unable to track the cycle’s sequence. I’d guess the cycle lasted about 90 minutes. AutoSense also has a very short dry period—only 3 or 4 minutes. I didn’t choose the BOOST or SANITIZE...
Bob- It may very well be the Sanitize option heats both the wash and final rinse. Will select Sanitize at some point and see if it lingers during the main wash, indicating a temp boost during that portion of the cycle.
Unfortunately, the owner’s manual is bereft of information we in the AW...
