A Dutch newspaper ad with a 1957 Frigidaire Unimatic in it

All of the Aline Frigidaires shown in Louis's ads have the lid offset to one side. Would that be correct? it looks odd. I wonder, were they up-and-down Frigidaires or maybe French-made top load tumble washers rebadged as Frigidaire?? As an aside to Louis, (hopefully not another hijack...;))...

    Hoover Keymatic 3226 question

Hi Louis That white plastic ring is a spacer, not a seal. In your second photo there is a stainless steel cap at the tip of the aluminium hub. (Centre of photo.) You can lift off that stainless steel cap (it looks like a stainless steel washer with a leg off to one side) to get to the seal...

    I'm so in love..

Make is General Electric, like it says across the top. Where are the controls for the top elements? Does the top lift up or something like that?

    Frigidaire/Holden stove/oven in Victoria

24" wide is a w-i-d-e stove in Australia, not narrow. Most stoves here are 54 cm (21 inches) or 60cm (24 inches.) Back when this stove was made, the vast majority were 54cm, a 60cm stove was a posh model.

    Vintage Toshiba washer

The selector is labeled "DELICATE FABLICS." That is gorgeous. What a sweet little machine.

    LG Washer Cycles

I didn't say "have you looked at the LG website." I said "Have you contacted LG?" Send LG an email, ask them the question directly. Suggest to them that the information should be in the owners manual. They will probably reply with the answers you want. Though they may come back with some...

French brand - De Dietrich appliances - anyone know what they are like?

Statomatic Here is an old thread on one of the "Kleenmaid By Brandt" small top loaders: https://automaticwasher.org/threads/kleenmaid-brandt-tx768-repair.75425/ It is my machine - the repair shown didn't work. I still have two of the machines, one day I will try to repair the better one. Maybe.

    Hoover Keymatic!!

There was a model with a teak fascia? If so, it would have just been a fake woodgrain sticker, but I don't remember one. Maybe that was the 425?

    Hoover Keymatic!!

I absolutely love Keymatics, but really they weren't very good machines. They were unnecessarily complicated and quite unreliable. The wash action is poor due to the tub tilting backwards when full and the extremely high water level, the clothes aren't so much lifted out of the water and dropped...

    Hoover Keymatic!!

In the new downloads, that pin is called the transax pin. (point 19 in section 4.) I drilled mine out when I pulled mine apart years ago, but the manual says to punch it INWARDS, into the pulsator shaft tunnel. I'd use a parallel pin punch, Bunnings sells sets of them. You would have already...

    Hoover Keymatic!!

Oh wow, thanks for uploading those! Such a great resource. The part 7 spare parts section - the cover shows something that confirms a memory from my childhood that I have long puzzled over. As a child we always had Hoover upright vacuum cleaners, always bought from the local Hoover store...

    Hoover Keymatic!!

I wonder if a car inner tube of the right diameter could be adapted to repair your door boot? You'd have to slit it around the inner diameter and try to marry it in with glue or silicone. The Keymatic boot is so different to other washing machine boots, it's more like an inner tube than another...
