Daily drivers: LG 3570 FL set. Vintage: 1955 Frigidaire Imperial pair...the Unimatic washer and Filtrator dryer. Also, a 1974 GM Frigidaire Skinny Mini in gold. As far as smaller applainces, I have an old Sunbeam mixer, Toastmaster toaster, a 1920s GE fan, 15 vintage vacuum cleaners, and two vintage portable wringer washers - a Monitor wringer washer and Whirlpool wringer washer.
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
-it would be fun to have a vintage Westinghouse Laundromat or an Easy Spindrier
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
-Watching my grandmother do the laundry...she had an old Easy Spin-drier and her "new" 1955 Frigidaire Imperial. She would use the Easy for rugs, rags, and stuff like that. I loved to watch her Frigidaire do its thing. I can remember her letting me sit on a stool and watch it. My mom had a Dexter wringer washer when I was born, but bought a Westinghouse Laundromat in about 57 after the wringer machine almost tore my arm off. (My mom and grandmother were a bit uneasy about letting me watch the machines after that.) I loved to stand in front of the Westy and watch it go through its cycles. I can remember what kind of washer all of our families and friends had 50 years ago.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
-I once owned a 1965 coppertone Frigidaire jet-action washer. I wish I still did. I also had a 1970 Maytag pair up until 1998. For a modern machine I currently own a Kenmore (Electrolux) front loader, which I am very pleased with and enjoy using and watching.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
-I have repaired my appliances, but have not done a complete restoration...yet.
