Difference Between Speed Queen Classic Heavy Duty & Bulky/Sheet Cycles

I created a corrected cycle matrix for the TC5 that you might find useful, here is the link: https://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREADM.cgi?86130_0

Brand new SQ TC5 with noise issue

Thought I would update that I did return my TC5--I had to pay a restocking fee as well as a charge to have them pick it up, but felt it was worth it to move on. I bought the LG WM3900 from Costco for $1079 with 4 years of warranty by using the Costco Visa. There was no delivery/installation...

Brand new SQ TC5 with noise issue

Emmach, you are welcome and good luck with your machine. John L. and panasonicvac, I think my reluctance with the Speed Queen front loader is mostly the significantly higher price and somewhat smaller capacity. The availability of these also seems to be an issue right now. I agree with buying...

Brand new SQ TC5 with noise issue

Here's my update. A few days ago I took the front cover off and attempted to spray the washers with white lithium grease. I could only get the can and short spray tube pointed at the washers from the front left side of the machine, so wasn't sure I was getting very much coverage. I was also...

    Question for LG WM3900 owners

Thanks, I haven't come across that in the online manual or other online documents I've looked at. I ended up finding the similar WM3700 on display at Home Depot and measured it--the 30-1/4" definitely includes the closed door rather than just the base.

    Question for LG WM3900 owners

Can someone please tell me if the 30-1/4" depth measurement for the LG 3900 is measured at the deepest point of the washer (including the closed door) or is it measured at the base of the washer? I'm trying to figure out if the machine will fit in the current washer pan that I have. Thanks.

Brand new SQ TC5 with noise issue

I haven't attempted the washer grease fix yet, but still plan to do so. I have been using the bulky cycle exclusively since I was annoyed at hearing the sound. It has been working fine but I still hear the noise once in a blue moon (even on bulky). The main reason I haven't tried the fix yet...

    Speed Queen suds/drain issue

My house is also one of those with a lousy standpipe drain. I used to have to have it snaked once a year or more to remove the lint, but eventually got tired of that and routed the drain hose to a (somewhat) nearby utility sink. I've found that a short nylon stocking on the hose works best for...

Mike, one question on lubing the washers. Did you loosen the drive pulley bolt to get the pulley to drop down a little or did you just spray the white lithium grease with everything assembled? I'm thinking of doing this myself rather than having a tech called in. Thanks.

Brand new SQ TC5 with noise issue

Agreed, thanks Mike for the valuable insight and information! I guess I'll see how long I can go before it becomes annoying enough to have a tech come out. I actually read one of your previous posts from 2014 on this site about the two washer issue (see link) but wasn't sure it applied to my...

Speed Queen TC5 Revised Cycle Matrix

For those that have a Speed Queen TC5, I noticed that the cycle matrix provided by SQ and referenced elsewhere appeared to have a number of errors. Using info from the owner's manual, YouTube videos, and personal observations, I re-did it for my own use and thought I would share it here. The...

Brand new SQ TC5 with noise issue

I did two loads of laundry today on normal/eco and heard the sound on and off. Then did two loads on bulky and never heard it. So I guess I am experiencing the same situation as emmach. BTW, the bulky cycle isn't too bad in that it uses low agitation with high speed final spin--this might be...

Brand new SQ TC5 with noise issue

I edited my YouTube video to add more of a title and description and hope I might get some feedback in the comments section (it's had a lot of views so far, but most of them are linking from this site). I was hoping to get some more feedback here on this site, but now it seems like just you and...

Brand new SQ TC5 with noise issue

I did a medium load of towels today on heavy duty and heard the noise a few times. I've only used bulky one time for a load of sheets and unfortunately don't recall whether I heard the noise or not. I am doing more laundry tomorrow and will try to work in a bulky or delicate cycle. Don't you...

Brand new SQ TC5 with noise issue

Emmach, if you are that concerned about the noise I would think it's time to call for service. If it was me, I would call the dealer first to see who they use that is Speed Queen service-authorized. That way you know you are covered as far as the warranty. When they come out, you can share...
