Looking for a vintage GE Filter-Flo and Kenmore Belt Drive (hopefully in kitchen colors). A Frigidaire Unimatic would also be nice.
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
Loved listening to our 2003 Whirlpool DD before it broke. On occasions, I would look inside at the agitator as it washed with the lid open. I did the same when visiting my grandparents, who owned a 90s Whirlpool DD with the gray tub.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
I bought my Whirlpool washer in July 2021 and spent several months rebuilding it. It became the first washer in my collection. The following year, I purchased a broken Maytag online and repaired it by installing a brand-new motor. Someone then pointed me in the direction of a Shacklock Gentle Annie, which ran fine apart from a broken water solenoid. Today, the three washers are in my garage laundry room, taking turns at being used. That number will soon be four if I can get my vintage Champion Spin-Washer working again.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
Ive been working on washers since 2020 when I rebuilt a Fisher & Paykel Smartdrive. Adding to the work I do at home, Ive also made a name for myself helping friends and family with their appliance issues. No, Im not a detail geek when it comes to restoring washing machines, but I do clean them to the best of my ability and with the tools I have on hand.
