Hoover 728 upright convertible

What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
i remember my mom had an avocado green portable hoover twin tub washing machine & spin drier in the early 1970s. i dont know if it was my mom or grandma, that i remember, using the Hoover twin tub but, i remember feeling the green ribbed lid with my hands and the sound of the spinner when it was turned on. feeling the cabinet vibrating and watching the water in the wash tub swirling the clothes around and seeing my mom or grandma pulling the clothes out of the spinner while the water was swirling around in the wash tub and thinking how cool 2 things happening at the same time. one side is water swirling around and the other side is spinning out dry (or at least at that time, i thought they were dry). i always thought the spinner was a dryer when i was little, until just recently finding out that our hoover didnt have a dryer, but a spinner.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
i have never owned my own personal appliance until recently when i bought my Hoover 0510 from another member on here. when i lived on my own, i had a vacuum cleaner, but i dont even remember what kind of vacuum cleaner it was. but more than likely, it was a Hoover upright. as for a washing machine, i did my laundry at my aunts house or at the laundromat.
I have owned;
a maytag GA208 (from 1978),
then a maytag A608 (from 1979) & DE308 (passed onto my dad),
Maytag GA806
(Passed onto my sister & her ol man)
and now I have a maytag CA806 & GDE808
Frigidaire 1-18
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
i reconnected the hoover twin tubs drain hose back onto the drain pump connector & reclamped it correctly, and vacuuming out the spiderwebs that were in my Hoover 0510s cabinet, my answer would have to be no. i plan to replace the belts on it someday though. and i also took apart the drain pump and greased the o-rings on both the top & bottom parts of the drain pump. i also changed the the washtub to drain pump hose (with the help of my mom).
i reassembled the hoover 65 upright convertible vacuum cleaner & changed the belt on it.
oh yeah, i did fix something on the control panel of our other washer that we used to have. but we bought a new washer and gave that one to my aunt cuz it only filled for supersized loads cuz the water level controller knob broke off (plastic parts).
