Grounding
BTW, I'm confused about the grounding issue comments. Their outlet is installed upside down and if it is an older house it wouldn't have had a gfci outlet. If it is a newer home it would most likely have a gfci breaker in the box. I installed a gfci outlet several years back just for...
Birth place of my set
I don't recall where my washer or dryer were manufactured. My memory is not that great. I do remember that at least some of my machines were made in Canada which came as a surprise to me since GE Appliance park (Haire) in Louisville is still in operation.
I loved my set like these
Well, I'm with John on this one. I had that same set which saw heavy daily use. The only repair I made was replacing the solenoid water valve. The hot water side quit opening. About 2 years ago the belt started slipping and I decided to replace the set due to the...
If you lay it on its side I would definitely pop the top up and stuff towels or something between the inner and outer tub to keep the inner tub centered in the outer tub. This would prevent the inner tub from banging the outed tub on the bumps and may preserve the boot which has probably dry...
It's not the recent set in Evansville IN. They have not sold yet. I intended to bid on them if no one else did but they have a bid and I ended up with covid.
My condo came with one of these. Powder detergent residue was a big issue with this machine. It required liquid detergent or extra rinses.
The matching dryer tied the clothes up in a knot and permanently pressed wrinkles in the clothes. Not a fan of these!
While we are on the subject I had craters and freighters to give me a shipping quote to ship a vintage TV on eBay. After I bid, won and paid for the item they refused to pick up the item and ship it. They were very rude about it too. I will never use them again!
I forgot to mention... a friend was junking a nicer kenmore with the ramped agitator. I took it and replaced my agitator with it and it worked beautifully after that!
Nice looking for b-o-l. I had a nicer model with water level and temp controls with that same agitator. It had zero turnover rate. I would stop it in the middle of the wash and pull the clothes in the bottom of the tub to the top. Otherwise the clothes on top did not clean.
