That Pulsator
Thanks eurekastar,
When I showed the machine to a 'non-appliance oriented' engineering friend he didn't believe that that little pulsator could move the water. Let alone provide such a vigourous wash action.
It took a demonstration to convince him.
The Art of Video
Thanks Mickeyd,
The credit for the videography goes to my partner.
Yes the Hoover 0308 is perfectly coordinated with our home decor :)
About the rollers
Thanks Mike.
The bottom roller required a bit of sanding as it showed quite a bit of cracking, the top roller wasn't too bad.
Yep the clothes do get a decent whirl. I guess the tub ratios changed to increase the wash capacity on later models.
I wonder what the rationale...
I started this project a few years ago, but got interrupted by a move from Melbourne to Brisbane (about 2000kms) and then a house renovation.
COVID-19 restrictions gave me some time to focus on finishing the job and I am gald to say that it is done.
I have uploaded a video to YouTube

I like to call it the Spankedomatic
Mattywashboy, I have a Smackulator, or Spankedomatic coming up from Sydney.
My next project after finishing the Hoover 0308 reno
Nearly finished
OMG!
I didn't realise how long ago I started this.
Having moved from Melbourne, with its somewhat British weather to Brisbane with its sub tropical climate, this took a back seat.
COVID-19 restrictions have given me a boost.
Cabinet has been resprayed, machine has been...
A marketing gimmick
Ask any engineer what the first thing to fail in a system/machine will be and they will tell you its the moving parts.
The more moving parts the less reliable the machine.
These new mechanisms are like the filteration systems of yesteryear. A marketing gimmick.
They are...
This maybe of interest to collectors in the Brisbane area.
Shame it's not the elusive 1828/06

Great to see one of these again!
Hi James
Congrats on this acquisition. My Mum had this very model. It was a wedding present in September 1966. I grew up in the UK and many a nappy of mine was boiled and washed in the 1450. 10 years later Mum upgraded to Liberator 1828/02.
Now living in...
