LG WashTower water heating
Some additional info from the monitor:
When heating was on during the Normal cycle, the monitor showed about 790 watts. Heating during the Sanitary cycle, it showed about 1000 watts continuously through the wash cycle.
Tumbling seems to use about 290 watts...
LG WashTower Water Heating
I ran a load yesterday with the washer plugged into an Emporia Smart Plug with Energy Monitoring | 15A WiFi Smart Outlet.
Watching electric usage on the Emporia app as it ran:
First, it seems to use about 1.20 watts on standby--plugged in, not doing anything.
As...
LG WashTower
I have had my LG WashTower WKEX200HWA for a few months and recommend it. Very satisfied that it does much better than my previous front loader.
It comes already stacked, so you don't need to lift the dryer onto the washer.
As I said in an earlier post, I don't know when the...
Heater?
I was wondering about my LG WashTower's water heating. WKEX200HWA
I'd suppose use of an electric meter that shows "instant" current usage would reveal when the water heater kicks in? Or if it heats at various levels, a low level might be difficult to detect what with all of the...
My Vote: Front Load
I had a 1960"s (?) Maytag TL that I used for many years. It cleaned poorly compared with other TL machines I had used previously. I noticed it's agitation was lazy compared with the series of TL I grew up with and had used as an adult.
When it died in 2005, I did my...
Periscopic Dryer Vent
Would a flat, adjustable-length vent work for you?
Most say something like adjustable between 24 inches to 41 inches--seems to me it could be cut down to shorter if need be.

Forward or Backward?
I bought a highest rated dishwasher just prior to the government push on manufacturers and it worked great on the standard cycle. The same brand and level machine I bought after moving to another house 3 years ago, the standard cycle doesn't clean the dishes. So I...
My 2 year old dishwasher doesn't get every-day-dirty dishes clean unless I use the super-maximum cycle. The 'normal' cycle spends much of the time with no water circulating; I assume it's using the technique of soaking which uses no electricity, but my dishes came out dirty.
And, my 2 year old...
Do any washers use variable speed drain pumps?
I recently came across a variable speed condensate drain pump for HVAC, see link.
"runs at the minimum speed needed, saving wear on the pump. The pump selects the lowest effective speed, making it quieter than a regular pump. Its unique...
Ah, where did you see it?
Yes, when you turn on the power, everything for that component, washer or dryer, on the control panel lights up; no issues with reading, a complaint by some for other LGs.
And, yes, I like the simple but bold styling.
