    Needed: 1988 Maytag upper outer tub cover clamp ring

    All fixed! Thanks everyone, and a special thanks to goatfarmer for sending me the upper outer tub clamp, which completely stopped all leakage. I did buy a new gasket too, but since it’s bone dry I’ll hang on to that as a spare and watch closely. 1988 Maytag save!

    Ah thanks qsd-dan. Good point. Haven’t removed the top cover, but do see a short segment of rust along the lower edge of the gasket, right where it had been leaking. Looks fairly superficial but can’t vouch for what’s deeper. Definitely raises the concern that a new gasket and clamp may still...
