    Amana speedqueen washer not agitating

Ok, please disregard the brake question above, I figured that out. And I found the culprit inside the gearbox. The teeth are wiped out on this piece. Of course the question now is, will it be possible to find one?

Could someone please explain how the braking mechanism works? Are the "pads" supposed to be tight inside this groove?

    Amana speedqueen washer not agitating

Thanks guys! It's been a great washer, and yes, I've put two belts on it so far😅 I've actually had it apart before to put a new tub seal in, so I know how big a job it is. Is it possible that it's a bearing? Even though it will still spin?. If we buy a new one what would you recommend...

    Amana speedqueen washer not agitating

Hello! Our faithful washer (about16 years old) suddenly won't agitate. It will fill , drain and spin. The motor will spin the other direction for agitate but the belt doesn't move. Stuck transmission? Can these transmissions be taken apart and repaired? Model#ALW880Q

Is the seal kit necessary for replacing the motor?

    Dishwasher motor cross-reference

Thanks guys! Stevet, do your used motors include an intact plastic cooling fan? I believe this is the problem with mine. I understand the motor can be removed and the fan epoxied back into place. If I'm going to the trouble to remove the motor I'd like to have a good one to drop back in...

    UNUSED GE Pot scubber Dishwasher

Lol, yes, my Mom is an odd bird. She never owned a dishwasher until they bought that house in '85 and it was already installed. She's convinced it wouldn't clean as well as she does by hand. She just uses it for storage. She also has a very nice Maytag electric dryer from the early '60's that...

    UNUSED GE Pot scubber Dishwasher

Not quite a '78 but...my parents bought their current house new in '85 and they've never used the dishwasher. I'm pretty sure it's a GE, next time I'm there I'll take a pic.

    Dishwasher motor cross-reference

Is there an easy way to cross reference the motors across different brands? I see a motor #W10226459 on eBay and I'm wondering if it would fit my KUDM220T

    Kitchenaid KUD dishwasher

So in light of this being a Whirlpool made unit, is it still as desirable? I have a line on a free parts machine if it's worthwhile. It's a bit of a drive so if it's "just an old dishwasher" I won't bother.

    Kitchenaid KUD dishwasher

Thanks guys! Dado, that's very interesting, I'd assumed the machine was much older. We bought the house in '93 so it must have been a recent install. I'll take another look with the new info in mind and let you guys know what I find.

Hey Toploader, thanks! I remember a steel piece on top of the motor shaft, is the plastic part you're talking about under that piece?

    Kitchenaid KUD dishwasher

Greetings! I have a Kitchenaid KUDM220T2 dishwasher. Our house was built in 1976, we've been here since '93. I believe this machine is probably original to the house. The washer has performed flawlessly all these years. Lately it is starting to make a loud spinny-rattley noise. Still...
