Because my home has no basement and my cars need to be in the garage I have equipped family members homes with my appliance collection in use in their homes. We live in a part of the country where storage is limited as no basements and we have a lot of hail so garages need to be kept clear for cars.
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
A 1979 or earlier Maytag washer with automatic pre soak cycle that continues into the wash cycle automatically. I have a 1995 version.
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
Watching the timer advance on the washing machine. Waiting for the “rinse and glo” knob to automatically spring release on our GE dishwasher.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
Not too many as I obtained my first Maytag washer and dryer set free in 1997 when I was 28 from a friend and still have it today though I did sell the dryer. Before that I had a used Kenmore direct drive regular capacity set I had bought used but I sold them to a friend when I was given the Maytag set.
