What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
When I was growing up in the 70s, we had a Maytag washer with the suds return feature. I remember my dad repairing the washer then telling the family DO NOT press the save suds button. I never knew why, and I was always dying to push the button but never did.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
Mostly Whirlpool, as they have been reliable and affordable to buy used.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
In July 2018 I finished restoring a 2004 Whirlpool top load washer. I took it almost completely apart, de-rusted and re-painted the base, the entire inside of the cabinet minus the lid, and both sides of the back. Repaired the transmission with neutral drain kit, replaced the water pump, spin clutch, inner basket, suspension springs and pads. And LOTS of scrubbing and cleaning.
