The solenoids - while powered, are not actually moving due to no neutral path.
No issues with water supply, strainers etc. I know why, detailed above, I just can't believe both timers have failed in exactly the same way and I was hoping someone might have a ray of sunshine for me :(
Update
UPDATE - managed to repair smashed up timer and fitted. Symptoms still the same. Either I have two timers with the same fault, or.... Another issue.
Please correct me if I'm at all wrong here:
Power to all solenoids when knob pulled out at start of cycle, but no fill (no valves operate)...
Hello! This raggedy machine needs your help! The timer has packed in, it's an AKO 514224... I've ordered the last remaining one secondhand on ebay, it's arrived smashed to bits. There's a company in the northwest listing one with no guarantee for £25 and a new one for £60 neither seems very...
Hello all again
I saved this from the jaws of the crusher (well it was stood upside down in a yard with a pile of newer appliances in deepest darkest shropshire bound for the scrap yard next week!)
Limited information on the internets suggests this is very rare machine - seems complete...
Hello again, can't find it anywhere but what grade of oil should I be using for a rescued countess and empress that I had to tilt on their sides? It was probably due a change anyway. I have previously used 80/90 gear oil in hotpoint top loaders with no issues.
Thankyou :)
elements
Thanks for your efforts, the offset on that burco element still definitely isn't enough to make it fit in this tub :(
Might have a look at chestermikes website - you say you've been looking into it - did you ever get any ballpark prices? Ultimately if it's going to cost much more than...
Hello all! Here I have a DUO-MATIC twin tub in bits, it has seen continuous servic e since new and with no spares it has a lot of garden wire and silicone repairs. No problems with making a good job of it however the heating element in the bottom of the tub is blown, it's a 240v 2kw heater and I...
Just come across a box of bits from a speed queen coin op i stripped last year, i think its a 1992 model and it was rotten! Various bits and pieces left over... i also think i have the motor lying round somewhere too
Let me know if you are interested in any/all pieces im happy to post stuff out.
Motor factors
I would take your old belt or remains to a motor factor/auto shop and ask for the closest they keep in. My local dealers stock all sorts and they can measure a belt - my friend has my old servis dryer that is running a morris marina fan belt rather than its original elastic rope...
:)
I have a very very poorly 1509 that will benefit from many new parts (well everything but the controls more or less) if i have any surplus bits i will let you all know
Chestermike
Strictly speaking not Cheshire anymore but over the border near mold.
Looks like you have a nice collection there! I'm just scratching my head over what to do with three 9600s all with broken fascias.hmmm
Done!
A pint and a half of silkolene 90 gear oil and freed up the clutch - put it all back together and ran a cycle without issue! Quite a tidy machine! Four more top loaders to go! Anyone know the year?
