Combo52 , thanks for the wise advice. I checked the relay and it was fine. So I purchased a used motor off of eBay and voila! All is good. Think I’ll see if I can get the old motor rewound as a spare since we have two Imperial 21’s in use.

Is this the motor start relay

I pulled the timer and watched it advance. Does anyone know which wires output from the timer to run the pump? Can someone tell me what to read with a voltmeter at the time to see if the timer is dropping the motor out. Also, does the motor have an overload shutoff if it heats up?

Hello y’all, been away for several years. My two Kitchenaid Hobarts have been running flawlessly. My KDI-21a recently started running for 15 seconds then stops. A couple minutes later it starts on its own again and keeps repeating this process. Motor/pump never runs longer than 15sec at a time...
