I have a house with recent appliances. They work. I like them. BUT, I am fixing up an older house and will move there in about a month. It's got this massive oven made by GE. I want to find out more about it.

What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
We had a restaurant grade ice machine when I was growing up in the early 60's in humid, hot Georgia. Opening the door and feeling that rush of cold air and getting some ice was the happiest thing.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
If you go back far enough, I'm sure that they are all pretty much Western European in origin. They've lived normal appliance lives and have done well for themselves.
