A plastic pulley doesn't seem to fit the sturdy reputation of Speed Queen. Maybe it was designed to be a "break-away" part in order to prevent a more expensive part from being damaged?

I have a 1996 Kenmore 80 Series gas dryer, model #11097588210 75882. What is a normal temperature range for the top exterior of the cabinet? Is 113°F excessively hot?

Do products like these offer any benefit to keeping a top load washer "clean"? The packaging shows front loaders, but the info about the products said they work on top loaders, too.

The guy in the video linked below ran into the same issue. He found a work around using pliers to prevent the transmission from rotating.

@paulg - $150 labor to install the transmission in your washer was a deal compared to the $370 labor the shop quoted me. The shop said the transmission installation will require a tub seal kit, which adds $280 to the cost.

Thanks, I will make a video and post it. The washer was making a knocking sound before it quit spinning altogether. The pump seems fine, it pumps out water no problem. But when it tries to spin, it makes the popping sound. I do not know if the agitator works.
