Thanks for feedback The lid switch is working so I also think it is the timer dial or the speed switch. How can I check to be sure and are these available?

Hi, I have a Maytag A208 washer that came with a house I bought in 1985. It has worked great but over the last couple of years it infrequently seems to get "stuck" during the wash cycle and won't agitate or spin. The dial timer keeps turning through the cycle but nothing happens in the guts...
