John L,
You mentioned previously you may have a timer for my Kenmore Cycla Fabric Washer.
The timer part number is 99500 and the machine model number is 563581. Hope this helps.
Thanks again,
Tom
Hi Ben,
Thanks so much for taking the time to look up the timer part number. That looks like the correct part number (99500) based on the manual and my machine model number which is 563581. No worries about the timer from ebay. I also sent you a DM.
Thanks, Tom
John L,
The timer part...
Hi John, yes I still need a timer for my machine, the one on eBay was for a 1 cycle one speed motor, and my machine has two cycles, two speeds. If you need more information please let me know.
Thanks very much, Tom
John L,
I think I will need a new timer for my Cycla Fabric washer. If you do happen to have one I would be interested. You can send me a DM if you want or let me know on this thread.
Thanks,
Tom
I've been working on restoring this 1956 Cycla Fabric washer for over a year as time allowed. It was taken apart almost to the last screw.
The gearcase was overhauled, the basket drive had parts replaced. The main drive motor was also serviced with a new capacitor.
Thanks to all that...
John (Combo52),
If you do have an original smaller drive block that would work, please let me know, I would be interested.
Ben (swestoyz),
Thanks for your research on the drive block. I didn't realize they changed the drive block in 1957, after my 1956 was made. That's why the 96384...
I'm replacing the Basket Drive block on my 1956 Cycla Fabric washer. The original part number was #91890, so when I googled it, it said it was replaced with Part #96384 which was also replaced with #387947 as shown in the picture. I know they've changed style over time but the new one seems to...
My almost 30 year old Kenmore Dryer is taking long to dry clothes. The vent was cleaned out recently and it's not blocked outside. The blower and lint chute assembly were also cleaned out recently. It seems like the heating element kicks on, gets hot but then it cycles off after about 2...
Does anyone have a knack for getting this hose on the tub for a vintage Kenmore washer? I assume the groove on the hose has to fit on the hole in the tub. This is the hose that goes to the water level switch. Thanks!
1965 Kenmore 70 Suds saver washer
Great job Jon! It's nice that you have the matching set. What is that filter indicator light for on the right side of the console? Is that for the self-clean filter? I have never seen that before, guess it wasn't used for very long.
I’m restoring a 1956 Kenmore Cycla Fabric washer and I believe this was the only model that had this type of kickout switch shown in the picture. I took it off the machine and the parts fell out and I don’t know how they go back together. The switch is there but not shown in the picture...
I am replacing the old metal pump with a new pump on my CyclaFabric washer and the instructions say if you are replacing the metal pump for the first time with the plastic pump you need to use washers on the bolts. It mentions part #285172 for the washers but I don’t get any hits on that when I...
New center post bearings and seals
So today I installed new upper and lower bearings and seals on this 1956 cycla fabric washer. I don’t have a bearing tool so I used a socket and a fender washer and lots of turbine oil and they went in fairly smoothly. The only thing is for the top bearing I...
Is there any difference between these two oils to oil the center post bearings on Whirlpool washers? I noticed one has MO-98 on the label (in the first picture) and looks more yellow, and more like the turbine oil I used to get from Whirlpool. The one in the second picture looks more clear. Both...
