I would give my right arm for this dishwasher. My mother saved until she could buy a Kitchen Aid like this one. It is still the best dishwasher I have ever used. Unfortunately we are in process of moving cross country and have no house to put it in. It deserves a good home!

The pump started this whole ordeal. The pump went bad so I bought a new one. Once installed, the motor wouldn't work. When the pump quit, the motor still agitated and spun with a full tub. So now it has a brand new pump but the motor won't work. Welcome to the world of old washers indeed...

Excuse my ignorance showing again :o How do I know if its a reversing motor or solonoid? I do not recall hearing banging solenoids but its been awhile since its run. I can't post photos right now, but there are some on post 33963. What should I be looking for?

Maytag vs SQ Very nice, will you use it often? There is one of these for sale near me for $50. The SQ is wonderful when it works, but finding parts is impossible. How is the reliability and parts availability for these machines? What is the model number on yours?
