Inner damper surface To smooth out the aluminum try fine sandpaper and wd-40 for the sanding lubricant. 1500 grit would be my start point. Wear rubber gloves as it is messy and will stain the fingers.

Stop the spin Same issue on all load size settings ?? I would make sure hose from tub to water level switch is 100% clear. This includes outside tub nipple. Where the hose attaches. Also, remove water level switch and blow out with air.
