What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
My grandmother had a thimble-top Kenmore washer from the 60s in the basement and always got a kick out of playing in it. Never will forget the "whir-whir" sound it made. Dont know the exact model, but it had a big control panel, loud timer dial when you turned it and sliders along the bottom of the control panel, I could probably ID it if I saw one.
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
Long.
The 1st washer I personally had was an old Hoover Twin Tub washer. It was rusty, and missing the wash lid, I think it came from the trash even. Neat machine and it worked, I would stay outside the house and play with it with the garden hose. After that I ended up with a 79 Hotpoint washer with the filter-flo "collar". Machine leaked, I took it apart, that was that, I was 12. I didnt get another washer until I was 18 and that was the avocado green Hoover twin tub that I still own today almost 8 years later. I purchased a new Haier XQBM22-C in 2003 which lasted for 1 year, and a Danby DTT-420 in 2008. Gave the Danby to my mother, good machine, but I wasnt very thrilled. In January of 2009 I picked up a Maytag A50 Porta-Washer and in the same month another Hoover twin tub (avacado green as well!).

Yes, many worked on, just getting to restoring a bit.
