Thanks guys
Bertrum - I will probably end up keeping this machine as im very impressed with it. I had forgotten how good they were as it's been a long time since I had an Energy Control Electron.
Hi Liam!
I didn't realise it was you either who purchased some of my brochures. Really pleased...
Hi Gary!
I am very pleased with it. It's much better than I had remembered the energy control models were.
I had the machine out today to seal the detergent drawer hose where it enters the tub as I noticed it was leaking the other day when I pulled the machine out to check the rear seal leak...
Hey Seamus
Thanks. Yes it was sad about the 3060 but enough was enough with that machine. It was one thing after the other and when the timer and bearings failed within a few months of each other I had had enough. I didn't have the money to get someone in to replace the bearings so she finally...
Hey Dan! Long time no speak..Hope you are doing well.
Thanks for your message and your comments. I did ponder about indesit but im not so keen on the look of them. They don't seem to have changed the design of the fascia in a while so maybe they will change it soon and they will look better...
Got the model number completely wrong!..It's A3472.
Just had the machine out to check how rear seal leak is doing and it seems to have stopped..yey! But have noticed a leak from the soap drawer to tub hose which is common and will just need some sealant round the edge.
Mark
Im the same Darren. As much as I want to do the repair im so convinced I will cock it up!
I may cheat and put some sealant on it to seal it and hope the machine lasts until I have the money to buy the new one. Not a good thing to do I guess in many vintage collectors eyes but I just know im...
Hey Darren!
Congrats on your new purchase! Looks a lovely machine and im sure you will spend hours trying out all the programmes with various options.
The 3060 was sad but thankfully a lot of it's parts have gone to other people to keep theirs going or to improve theirs so im pleased about...
Forgot to say that another reason for getting the machine is that the top loader now has a fault with the hot water valve sticking so to use I have to reach behind the machine and turn the hot on then wait for the machine to fill and then turn the water off again. Was becoming rather annoying...
Hi Guys
Well after the sad loss of the 3060 I thought I would be fine with just having the top loader and twin tub. I was wrong and as time went on really missed having a front loader in the kitchen (The top loader is in the garage and with all the recent snow and general cold/wet weather was...
Gary
Im going to try my hardest to resist! But you know what it's like when a washer sits there and winks at you saying "please take me home"..lol
Mark
Hi Mike
Ive been slowly reducing the collection down and down to what it is (or not) now.
I did sell a few machines to another collector so they are safe and sound. Sold one on eBay. The 3060 has finally been retired and stripped due to timer and bearing failure. I currently have some parts...
Richard I totally agree with you with regards to molting hairs...lol. We are both furry and like you say the filter tray catches loads. Between us being furry and the pets you can imaging what the filter tray traps in it and I want to have a top loader for as long as I can.
Great to here you...
Congratulations Richard!..Beautiful machine!
I adore Hotpoint top loaders and love mine. They are fantastic. If you just fill with hot water without heating it's only approx 40 minutes cycle time which is great. Clothes get a "Effective but gentle action" wash and cleaned well plus the fiter...
I agree Rob
Why would such a thread be created?
This site is for the enjoyment of machines and the enjoyment of using them properly and the preservation of them if possible. If machines cannot be kept going then they should be recycled in the proper manner where the parts may be of use to...
