The Links in Modern Living are a mess. I would guess all multi section threads are too.

ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS - Please Read This...

Robert, I'm approaching this with a bit of trepidation - I knew this day was coming - just sooner than I expected. I  hope you find retirement enjoyable. You deserve it after putting up with all of us for so many years.  Well done!

    Mattresses aargh

I bought a hybrid Lisa mattress last year, can't say enough good things about it.   A year in it's just as comfortable.

PSA: Reply # versus date & time

I'm occasionally surprised at the number of posts that some threads differ from what I see. For me it's well worth not seeing garbage posts from a couple of people.

    Cheap bedding

I bought a new mattress last year, it's considerably thicker than my old one. None of my sheets fit it properly. Bought some sheet clips but they are a hassle to use.  I like 100% cotton sheets and bought a set, but the budget isn't there for 3 or 4 sets. Stumbled across a set of brushed micro...

    vintage telephones on moderm line

Not dialing the area code is nor really  a voip function but how my PAP2T adapter is programmed. It's not really a big deal but for me it's a "nice" feature I like.   If you are not familiar with the Cisco/Linksys PAP2 adapters  they are highly customizable. You can change the dial tone, and...

what is the issue?  I might have a copy somewhere, but first look here under ephemera.

    vintage telephones on moderm line

I've been using voip.ms for well over a decade, great affordable service. Ported my number - that  we've had since the 60's - use a Panasonic cordless system with 5 handsets plus a couple of hardwired handsets all connected to my Cisco PAP2T voip adapter. Lots of customization over the years...

Happy 20th Birthday to my Whirlpool Duet FL Washer

Mark,I could never get the cleaning cycle to work using your method. I have the exact machine in the link you posted, someday I'll try that method although it's been fine all these years without it.

    Got the KA stainless beater

You drop a dime in the bowl and see how much it moves when running. Goal is about 1/2-1" each time, more movement means beater is too low.

Happy 20th Birthday to my Whirlpool Duet FL Washer

Congrats on 20 years!  I have one of your machines siblings - it's going strong too.  Bought it used in 2010, wanted to experiment with a FL,soon became my daily driver. Wishing you many more years of Duet washing.

    Got the KA stainless beater

Shape wise it's an exact copy of the original. That said I expect it to operate in a similar manner.  I have not used it yet so I can't comment on that.  I looked at a number of knock-offs on AZ but KA was having a sale and I was ordering other things, so I tossed it in my basket for $29.

    Got the KA stainless beater

Wow, it's HEAVY! Ordered it directly from KA so it's genuine.   Old coated beater 123g new SS beater 345g!   BTW did the dime test, still spot on.  Found I purchased it 10/7/92, never adjusted it, no service at all. Might want to check the brushes at some point, no grease leaks so I will...

Could I live without my Stand-Up Mixer?

Well here  I go again.  KA is having a sale so I added a red cordless 7 speed hand held to my collection. I was making a Karpatka last weekend, used my $14 Aldi cordless mixer and it made a mess on my cooktop. It's got to go.   What's a Karpatka? See the link below...
