    I turned on my Furnace

I miss my old electronic filter with the snap crackle and pops. Think it was a Sears version of a Honeywell. I've got a variable speed blower and ran it 24/7 on lowest speed, house was totally comfortable, but it did add to electric bill. My smart thermostat has a circulation feature...

Let's talk jeans. Love them or hate them?

I'm a few weeks short of 71, still wear jeans. I have lots of 34x36 and 34x34 but unfortunately now wear 32x34 - i think it's easier to live with too snug jeans than too loose. Was at Costco and bought my first pair of tech pants, really like them.

    Vintage Appliance Advertisements: Part Thirty-one

I had a later version of the Zenith clock radio, mine had L.E.D. display and a straight line radio tuner. I used it for many years. No other clock radio sounded as good back then. Replaced it with a 2 piece Nachimichi stereo clock radio, later with a Proton, each was a step up in sound quality.

    Burgers and Fries

I have a Rival fryer that I Used occasionally, don't recall oil ever going bad. But I only used it once or twice a month, changed the oil every 9-12 months. Have not used it since I got my air fryer.

AOL ending dial-up internet September 30.

I volunteered with my local freenet for about a decade. It was a low cost dial-up, and I helped a lot of little old ladies get and stay on line. I got to the point i could walk them through set up and problem solving from anywhere, no need for a computer screen, Went through a lot of modem...

I'm sorry to ask this most basic question, but which gas range connector?

The added bulk of the 48" lines are the reason I generally avoid them...

I'm sorry to ask this most basic question, but which gas range connector?

I'd go with the 36" length, any less and you'll have to crawl over the counter depending on your kitchen set up. A lot depends on the stoves fittings and BTU rating. Do you know the size of your supply line? 1/2" is pretty std. but other sizes are not uncommon.

is this simple or complicated? 60s frigidaire elec cooktop

That is not a plug, just a simple junction box. Ovens and cooktops are hard wired since they are not movable.

IH Visions Induction Compatible Vitro-Ceramic Cookware

having used VISIONS for decades I might buy one or two pieces, but not a set. Bought a good quality SS set for my induction cook top, but always need an extra pot or two.

What Temp Is Your Thermostat Set?

I have not used my central AC for close to a decade, but this year the heat/humidity got to me. I'm on a three tier electric plan so no AC from 2-7 rate is 18 cents a kw/hr. I keep it at 80 from 7-11 PM and 7 AM till 2 PM, rate 11 c kw/hr. from 11 PM to 7 AM I cool to 78 when the rate is 8 c...

Amana ABB1924BRW05 Fridge door opens too far

That often happens when the plastic cam on the bottom hinge pin wears out. The OEM stuff lasted a decade or more, the replacements only seem to last a few years. I've tried a few different manufactures, no difference, but at least they are cheap.

On an other topic, one thing I miss - other than the colorful format - is the header with a complete list of forums. I am used to simply clicking on those now I have to go back and scroll down a list to get where I want to be. I understand this is frequently done to increase page view numbers...
