What are your dream machines yet to be found?
-60's Lady Kenmore,love the lights,chrome and big buttons. Maytag center dial in white to match my dryer,I ran across one right after I got my dryer but I was living in a third floor apt.,was afraid it would leak, so I opted for the almost new roper. recently bought a house,so now I can collect a few things.
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
-Grandpa doing laundry with the 1960's Maytag set out in the garage, I don't know if he really enjoyed doing the laundry or if he did it because that was the only place he was allowed to smoke,when grandpa couldn't make the stairs anymore no one else could run the washer because all the writing on the dial was worn off, so we replaced them with a TOL GE set,It had the mini basket,and there was something fancy about the lid. I remember baking a lot of cookies with Grandma and her sunbeam stand mixer model 10 I think, don't have that one,she wore it out, I do have her sunbeam hand mixer,and other sunbeam mixers I've collected,Grandma sure made great rumballs with lots of rum. When we would go to my aunt's house I would go right to the closet where she kept the vacuums, A hoover convertible and a constellation, I just loved playing with the constellation, then one day she let her housekeeper take it home,I must of got upset because the next thing I remember we were going to the maids house to get the constellation back, I don't know what finally happened to that vacuum, so now I have my yellow model 843 from e-bay.
