AGA stove; Sub Zero fridge; Bosch Stove as well; Bosch and Miele washer and driers (matched pairs)
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
Things for son
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
Cooking eggs and bacon and tomato breakfasts when 11 years old onwards on an Australian built twin oven 4 burner stove, not the best but it did work OK
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
Bought AGA stove because they last for 100 years, and they cook better. But gas supply is now expensive and threatened. May convert it to electricity and put a battery to collect our 14 kw of solar. Sub zero because the only USA made stove available in Australia. It does preserve the food better. Quite a bit better. Miele appliances: two washing machines, one bought 1985, rotary mode selector was like a clock timer, it broke down in 2004, expensive to replace and bearings had estimated 5 years left so replaced with a German made AEG (owned by Mercedes Benz back then) which was replaced (it was still working but had a minor leak once which was a hose crimp) in 2018 by Miele. Had a Fischer and Paykal clothes dryer for the longer than the Miele washing machine. The dryer was high tech, and simply made, in Brisbane. F&P was sold to Haier, the Chinese want to monopolise white goods company, who closed the Brisbane operation down. No longer does the F&P brand live up to their original longevity standards.
