finally bought our dream house! For now were using what was left. 1990 BOL Whirlpool TL washer and late 60s gas dryer. An early 90s Frigidaire DW and a Whirlpool Estate fridge that was the only thing to fit a smaller than normal space. And mid 2000 Frigidaire gas wall oven. Nothing fancy but everything works as it should, well enough but Im a spoiled brat so theres always room for improvement;)
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
Would still love to find a fantastic vintage washer dryer set but am probably going to save and get a Speed Queen set. Want the FL but may end up getting TL. Want to upgrade the DW at some point too, not sure which brand yet. Vintage washer dryer set-Lady Kenmore, Fridgedaire,-matching-upper end models, late 50s early 60s. Restored. Vintage KitchenAid DW to match my mid cent kitchen in our (new to us) house. Have picture of original, maybe Frigidaire with huge round knob on front, like a Chryslers grille (my fave feature), also wall oven to match, preferably light blue.
What are your earliest and favorite appliance memories?
We had a Kenmore microwave-range all in one unit with the ceramic cooktop in avocado green growing up. In 40+ years I have never lived without a microwave oven! My aunt and uncles KitchenAid DW in their mid century modern kitchen with the big chrome knob on front. Also our fridge in our camp from the 40s with the heated butter cover that gave a nice shock :) also a pull out Frigidaire range we had in a mid cent house we rented for a year. Exact same range Samantha had on Bewitched! Also same aunt had Frigidaire unimatic(?) washer with the up and down pulsating agitator. I thought, this wont last!
What is the history of appliances you have owned?
Kenmore wringer washer. Numerous KM WP washer and dryer sets. KA dishwasher from neighbors-late 60s high end model-long gone..
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any major appliances?
Minor repairs to washer and fairly major to DW. Lots of vacuum cleaner repairs, lots ;)
