Amana DLE330RAW dryer: NLA parts, thermostat, etc

Thanks you guys, that's great input! Thinking a bit more about it, I probably only replaced the rollers 3-4x over that 20 years, so more like every 5-7 years, and really maybe didn't need to replace them both every time, but did while I had it opened up. Yes the one on the burner side has worn...

Amana DLE330RAW dryer: NLA parts, thermostat, etc

I guess my standards are low based on clothes washers and dishwashers made in the last 10 years or so? To me, that's been pretty good service for a $400 machine, about $200 in parts over 20 years (my labor though, free...). Lots of loads through it. Is there a better model for long term...

Amana DLE330RAW dryer: NLA parts, thermostat, etc

Yeah I wondered about that, but don't know these machines. That makes sense- it seems to have been pretty bullet proof over the past 20 years…!

Amana DLE330RAW dryer: NLA parts, thermostat, etc

Hey ya'll. I have a 20 year old Amana dryer, DLE330RAW. We bought it in about 2001 or 2002. It has served well, supporting near daily use (family of 6), with a little maintenance over the years: replaced motor in about 2004, and belts and rollers every 2-3 years or so, plus at least one set...

    Maytag/whirlpool dishwasher cleaning

Lemi shine, that is. I don't know why Maytag wouldn't provide this info in the user manual.

    Maytag/whirlpool dishwasher cleaning

Disassembly.... Really wasn't that hard. I removed the top rack, lower wash arm, fill tube, accumulator, and then I came across a slotted plastic trap of sorts....this was full of stringy detritus and grease. I removed a couple other parts from the sump, till it was apparent there was no more...

    Dishwasher Detergent Recipe, with phosphates?

Our water is pretty hard, but not that bad, overall. It's rural water, piped from the Missouri river, about 100 miles away. Very consistent water, since the reservoir is so big.

    Maytag/whirlpool dishwasher cleaning

Near as I can tell, it is citric acid plus fragrance. We have been filling the cups each about half full with cascade , and then adding maybe 1 tsp of lemi shine on top of each cup. I think we started this soon after installing the DW. I have wrestled with this - it seems counterproductive...

    Maytag/whirlpool dishwasher cleaning

Hello. I have a Maytag MDB8969SDM0 dishwasher, that's about 2 years old. We have fairly hard water, about 14 grains hard. We have been running Cascade powder with lemi shine added to help keep hard water deposits off the glasses. In the past several months I have been noticing little white...

Thanks for the thoughts, I'll give it whirl.

    Dishwasher Detergent Recipe, with phosphates?

white buildup removal! Panthera, thanks, that's helpful. With regard to the buildup I mentioned earlier, see the attached photo. I took this the other day, after running a cycle with about a cup of vinegar for cleaning. You can just see the screens under the spray bar - that's about the...

    Dishwasher Detergent Recipe, with phosphates?

I ordered 2.5 lbs of STPP, to give it a try. I'll try to post after testing, but my plan is: use cascade complete in a 2:1 ratio with STPP, and see how it goes. The water softener suggestion is something I'll keep in the back of my mind. Might be a good thing to pursue on the hot water line...

    Dishwasher Detergent Recipe, with phosphates?

Thanks for the softener idea. Don't want to do that for a host of reasons, among them it wrecks my water for brewing due to sodium ion addition. I figured the STPP was primarily for water softening, so if you have soft water, it likely would have little effect.

Laundry Detergent that gets whites, white?

With regard to iron, the levels aren't too excessive. I know the problems with bleach oxidizing iron on the water, used to see that with well water. With regard to hardness, it's about 14 grains, which isn't soft. I do see the benefits of chlorine bleach, but we don't use much here, due to...
