    1957 Duomatic

Working or not, you made one lucky find and a lot of us I'm sure envy you -- I know I do! You will be so proud once it's restored :)

Please, guys, tell me about agitators

Rollermatic I've seen lots of talk of it, can someone explain it? Is this the one that bobs up and down rapidly to move the clothes upside-down and around without having to beat them with the agitator paddles?

    Water in the Window

How much would one of the Mieles run in American dollars?

    Water in the Window

Interesting. Hopefully the US versions are adjustable as well, though it wouldn't surprise me one bit if the Energy Star police ruined it for us Americans.

    Water in the Window

I would also like more detail on reprogramming Miele, is this only available on certain models, etc? And how much are the services calls?

    Water in the Window

Miele I have looked at the USA Miele website, but I'm suspicious as it proudly advertises using as little as 8 gallons per cycle....this is definitely what I DON'T want! I would be interested in Miele, but only if I could be assured that it could be reprogrammed to offer high water levels on...

    Water in the Window

Jon It appears that consumers are offered machines that fill with an acceptable amount of water outside the US, based upon photos I have seen posted here. The photo you showed is something that I have NEVER seen on a recent, domestic front loader here -- usually they fill with enough water...

    LG "Steamwasher"

Somehow, I think I like it better than the blue....even though it reminds me of that putrid burnt-orange so ubiquitous in the 70's....YECCHH!

    Water in the Window

I definitely support Kelly on this. The frugal water use works fine to remove dirt. It is absolutely ineffective in removing odors. When large loads come out with dry spots, that tells you not enough water is being used. Anyone who disagrees is kidding themselves! The machine's only function is...

Anyone have this washer, and could upload photos of it in action?

Samsung Washer Sanitizes w/o Hot Water or Bleach

We all have our broken-record issues, mine of course being the whole water-level thing....jajaja

Most beautiful front loading pair EVER!

A Duet In Drag I love it! LOL I came across the Ipso website and found for sale, soft-mount commercial washers with programmable water levels....YES!! The question is: how much, does anyone know? Like Gansky, I would gladly pay several bills (and maybe take out some home equity) for a...

Samsung Washer Sanitizes w/o Hot Water or Bleach

I agree with the above post. The return to common sense with regards to laundering is needed, not expensive and unproven gadgetry. Keep in mind that unless someone has thought of a way to make money off of it, none of these so-called laundry/environmental "improvements" would ever make it onto...

Samsung Washer Sanitizes w/o Hot Water or Bleach

I have no problem with conserving energy, until it interferes with the primary job of the appliance. The consumer should influence the array of products on the market based on their personal needs--not a government agency or corporate marketing. And I hardly use much air conditioning--even here...
