Thanks so much for the replies. It still runs and heats up. Dries clothes no problem. But smells gassy. I'll try soapy water. Man do I regret getting rid of the matching washer when its transmission died!

My trusty Maytag gas dryer has begun leaking gas. I have done regular maintenance, glides, belt, etc. But I don't know how to go about diagnosing and repairing a gas leak. Repairman suggested it's time for a new one. I hate to get rid of it!
